Smoke free for a whole year
People have said read the book in 1 go, you can read it in what ever way you want, for me it was over 3 days. There’s no right of wrong way, just reading it shows you are mentally ready to quit. Now the book promises a positive attitude to quiting smoking, like a yay im an ex smoker. I didnt get that, in fact the day after finishing the book i was filled with such disappointment as i wanted nothing more than a cigarette, I was gutted. And yet i still give this a 5 star, why. Because not everyone is the same, I needed time to process the information in the book and think about what I was getting out of smoking, every sensation, how i ignored the awful taste, how there is not physically satisfying change when having one. After 1 week of of processing this i had my last cigarette. and its been a whole year now and i dont miss it. What the book did for me was to help make my desire to quit stronger than my desire for the next cigarette. Now did i struggle quiting, only for the first times, meaning the first time being with someone who smoke, the first time having a drink which was. I found once i got passed that first time without the second was easy, no craving, I knew if i could do it once i could do it again and knowing that took the struggle away. We are all different and process things in a different way. give the book a chance, it costs less than a box on cigarettes. Think of it this way, I’ve saved over £2000 in 1 year from quiting. I could go on holiday twice with that and still have spending money

3 months and counting
I started smoking when I was 16 and I am now 33 (20 a day). I read this book and have now been a non smoker for three months and counting. I’m still going strong and don’t have any reason to start up again. The book is very clever how it is written and changes the way you think about smoking and your mind set. I must admit that I got half way through the book then started making excuses with myself to not read anymore of it. I started reading other books and then I would go back to it. I would then go back to the beginning of the book and start again. I did this a few times, but not to worry, as the author says that this sometimes happens because you are fearful that the book will work so you are reluctant to finish the book. At one point in the book the author says that by this point you should be feeling excited and looking forward to becoming a non smoker but that if you are feeling fearful etc then to start the book again to really let it sink in what he is trying to say. When I did eventually get to finishing the book I planned to have my final cigarette after work. I sat outside and followed his instructions including really focusing on the cigarette, focusing on the taste, the smell and the feeling. I was wretching by the time I stubbed it out. When I stubbed it out I said out loud “That’s it I am now a non smoker”. I have found that just like the author says I didn’t need any NRT and although I occasionally think to myself “I just fancy a cigarette” the thought of it and thought of the smell, taste etc puts me off it. I was dreading going out drinking and kept putting it off but when I did eventually go I had a great time and didn’t even think about smoking. It is really clever how he seems to say exactly what you are thinking and there are so many different things that he says that really make you think. It feels strange at the beginning because you say to yourself “Right I want to stop smoking so I am going to read this book”. Then when you start the book you are able to smoke whilst reading it and the author actually encourages you to smoke whilst reading it, he encourages you to not try to cut down while reading the book. Its so bizarre but once you start reading it you will see what I mean. Yes its an old book but I strongly recommend it and it has improved my life. I am now a non smoker !!!

UPDATED- STILL SMOKE FREE!!! Second time lucky 🍀
Update:I cannot believe it over two years later I am smoke free! This book saved my life…if you was like me and didn’t want to do it.. it will be the best thing you’ve ever done!I smoked from the age of 13 and now aged 26, I smoked around 30 a day.First time I read the book (back in December) I lasted 2 days as a non smoker. I then got ‘stressed’ and had a cigarette. As this was my first time reading the book I blamed the book and decided I would never be able to stop smoking so I probably smoked more than I had ever done during that month. Now looking back, Allan tells you don’t let the monster take over, and it did just that the first time around. Then one day, I thought I really wish I had just not started, so I picked up the book again and started from fresh. I read it in 2 days in between work, back in April 2021 and have been smoke free ever since!I’m constantly around smokers and have not once fancied or craved or wanted a cigarette. I actually feel very sorry for smokers. I also was worried I would put weight on and I have also lost a little weight ( I KNOW) during my time of being an non smoker, who would of thought!Being an asthmatic, I can actually breath for the first time since being. It is honestly the best thing I’ve ever done. Wish I had stuck to it the first time round.

Quantifies the obvious
This book is fantastic. I had thought to myself(since I failed to give up by 21 or 22 years of age which I incidentally remember promising) for nearly a decade that I needed to stop. A couple of years ago, perhaps around my 27th Birthday, I made a vow to stop by 30. Well I’m now 29 and 10 months so I thought i’d give it a try to stop – I remembered a friend had mentioned a book some years ago. So I looked it up and found this – after reading the reviews I decided indeed to try it – as so many have said what do I have to lose? I have tried periodically to stop, but to be honest they have been half-arsed attempts since I did not think in my heart of hearts I’d be able to kick the habit. I’d smoked every day since 16, and smoked on and off for three years before that.Well I finished the book; I knew the risks, I had the desire to stop, I dislike the expense etc etc, all the usual things. Somehow Allen quantifies all of these factors in a way that means something has just clicked in my head. I read the reviews that say its easy to stop – to be honest I’m not finding it a walk in the park by any means – but I haven’t smoked since (its been 3 days). I’ve saved £24 already on cigarettes, and it is getting easier to get by without them. I walk past several newsagents daily before work, at work, and after work – and I haven’t had a single urge to walk in and buy a pack. I’m talking of that belly-itch that when it occurs, you just know you’ve already lost the battle of wills! I will of course update this review in good time – but its getting easier and easier, and the first 24 hours were by far and away the most difficult for me so far.Anyway. As I say, its not easy but this is the far and away the best I’ve felt about not smoking. I did really want to stop, I just didn’t really know how to go about beginning to stop. This book somehow gives you a rational strength that I’ve just missed before and frustratingly I don’t know why. Don’t waste any more time – if you are looking for a helping hand, this is the best one I’ve found – and by the look of it i’m by no means the only one.

It really works.
After reading this book I stopped smoking and haven’t looked back. That was 5 years past in August. It is life changing and forever grateful to the author. If nothing has worked for you yet, honestly give this a go. It works.

It worked for me
It worked! I bought and read the book with a little hope (based on the reviews) but not truly believing it would work for me having smoked for 25 years and trying to stop so many times. At the end I did not feel ready but knew that I ultimately needed to stop smoking so thought it I would at least try and follow it through and see what happened.I do think you do need to want to stop smoking yourself (at least a little – I wanted to stop in so many ways but like other smokers also really didn’t want to) and also do require some willpower on the first day but with a combination of willpower and remembering the points in the book, it was so much easier than previous attempts and by the next few days it was even easier still. I feel like a non smoker and the thought process has helped me massively. My partner can not believe how pain free it has been this time round. I am truly grateful and already feel the benefits in so many ways.

If you’re a smoker & you’re thinking about quitting. BUY THIS BOOK!
I genuinely did not think this was going to work. I started smoking when I was 15 & I am now 30. Smoked average 15-20 a day or 40 if drinking! Lots of my friends smoke, in fact my closest friends still do. I told them I was reading it & you could tell from looking at them they knew I wouldn’t quit. I read it with an open mind over the space of about a week & that was 2 months ago now & I haven’t smoked since.I have tried to quit by vaping, years ago I tried patches, the worst thing I’ve tried is cold turkey as it made me feel depressed. I don’t know how or why, but this book worked. My “cravings” if you can even call them that, after reading this were so minimal for the first few weeks & so easy to overcome & then I stopped craving altogether. It was actually easy, I weirdly did enjoy the process & I’ve now got a lot more control back in my life & I definitely don’t miss it. When I read the reviews I thought they were made up, they’re not. I never thought I could do this & I could talk for hours about how proud I am, how easy it was & how I didn’t think I would be able to. If I can, genuinely anyone can. Do it, literally buy it right now!

This book changed my life
I’ve been a smoker since I was 18, now 37.I smoked Roll ups without the filter and would say I was a medium to heavy smoker.I also smoke other stuff and with that I never thought I would be able to stop smoking tobacco all together.I read the book first time round, but I’m not sure I took the book and it’s contents in properly – I’m putting that down to my poor attention span and my desire to stop smoking as quickly as possible.I continued smoking for a year after I failed the first time. I also hid from my family that I had started smoking again.June 2018 I picked the book back up and read each page, with great attention and absorbed each word on each page.I was coming to the end of the book, I had 60 pages left and had run out of tobacco. Instead of going to buy more – I had realised I was already a non smoker and didn’t bother buying more (despite the book telling me to smoke to the end)However, I finished those 60 pages and at the end pledged I’d never touch a cigarette again.I haven’t. I’ve been smoke free since July 2018 and could never be more happy or proud of myself. The book flipped my perception on smoking and now I cannot believe I smoked those dirty, stinking roll ups for nearly 20 years. Whenever i see a smoker I am grossed out, whenever I smell it I find it disgusting. This book does something to your brain and it is by far the best way to stop. There is one caveat – you need to want to stop smoking – or at least have considered it to take embrace the approach from Allen. The book is cheaper than a packet of cigs and what do you have to lose?

It worked for me…
In 1999 I read Allen Carr’s Only Way to give up smoking permanently when my sister gave up smoking from reading it, I had smoked for 10 years quite heavily and tried different ways to give up. From the time I read it I never wanted to have another cigarette, never craved one and never put on weight. I ranted about the book for years and bought several copies for friends and relatives. I was 100% sure I would never smoke again and used to brag that I couldn’t smoke as I couldn’t put a cigarette to my mouth… however my party trick backfired on me and under the influence of alcohol earlier this year I was convinced I would not get hooked! How stupid I was. I started again finding myself needing another cigarette and another and another…. so I bought the book again. After starting reading I got to a part (not even 100 pages in) which triggered something which made me again give up and I put the book down then gave it to someone else, a couple of weeks later (after not even thinking about cigarettes) I was offered a cigarette and took it and again I was addicted and the numbers started going up. I bought this CD as am very busy and knew I had to listen to the whole CD. This has now worked for a week and again I don’t need a cigarette and again know that 1 cigarette will lead to another and another (which was my mantra 12 years ago which made me give up). I have had cigs in the house for the last week as well but not even looked at them. I am hoping this time I will take advice as I know that if I smoke again there will be nothing to get me out. I was stupid for smoking that first cigarette again.I would say though that I don’t think that this CD would have worked for me first time but wish I had listened to it a year ago before I smoked that 1 cig. If you want to give up I would recommend you read Allen Carr’s Only Way and then listen to this if you ever feel the need. Good luck!!

It’s cheaper than a pack of cigs!
I love this book, it’s great! I must admit I was sceptical at first, but after reading the first few pages I realised this was going to be a good read. The book itself is brilliant and offers very helpful advice on the ‘EASY WAY’ to stop smoking. It is somewhat repetitive in parts. You’ll see a few lines from the book mentioned and reused numerous times. But I guess this is to reinforce the points being made at those parts of the book. The book is cheaper than a packet of cigarettes, and will save you thousands in the long term. It’s a no brainer! Now enough about the book. The real question; ‘does it work?’. The answer, absolutely! The method this book uses to get you to stop smoking works so long as you really want it to. It’s hard to explain. But essentially the best way to describe it is, I really wanted to quit. This book showed me it’s possible and after I had one last cigarette on the last chapter (the book actually asks you to save your last cigarette for that chapter). That was it! Gone! I no longer crave a cigarette anymore. The thought of a cigarette makes me feel sick and the way I think about smoking has completely changed! This book made quitting fun. I highly recommend this book to anybody who wants freedom from smoking

What a Winner!!
3 weeks in and no cigarettes, no temptations, no cravings. What fabulous advice, read the book with an open mind. Follow the instructions (there’s only 3) and you’ll kick the habit. After 40 years of smoking I’ve quit!! If I can do it, why don’t you give it a try?

It works, but not the complete change of view I was hoping for.
Lots of repetition of the same points regarding how smoking doesn’t actually have any benefits at all. I can be a difficult read but there must be a method behind the constant droning because I successfully quit smoking cold turkey upon finishing the book. In fact I decided to stop a couple chapters before the recommended ‘Last cigarette’.It must somehow work to subtly rewire your brain and change you way of thinking about smoking. After reading I finally saw smoking for the trap it really is instead of the pleasure I had to give up.Don’t get me wrong though it wasn’t as easy as the author claims his journey was. I still had to have quite a bit of willpower to get me through those first days and ‘break the habit’. And I still have moments now where I think of a cigarette as a relief from stress that I can’t have. But in those moments I recall what Allen Carr had said in his book and it helps me overcome it. So yes, anyone struggling to quit smoking, please push through the dull droning and keep reading to the end, it really works!

Yes, it works!
I bought this book on kindle when it was 99p, after the realisation of how much money I was actually spending on cigarettes during lockdown I thought it wouldn’t hurt to read this and see what happens…either I stop smoking or add another book to my read list.First I have to say that I felt the book was quite patronising, however after getting past this initial feeling, I found the book a fairly easy read. It does state that you should continue to smoke whilst reading (I was ready to stop almost half way through!)Does it work? Yes, it has for me! 43 days smoke free and £305 better off. No cravings, mood swings or feelings of loss (I enjoyed smoking). Will it work for you? Give it a try and see for yourself.Update: It’s been one year today since I stopped smoking after reading this book. COVID has put a lot of pressure on life, especially being a lecturer, however, cigarettes have not been a thought or a contemplation… I am also £2477 better off, transferring my weekly spend has been the best part! 😊

Sorcery
I was hopeful but a bit sceptical before reading this. To be honest, it is very repetitive and not the most interesting read. Right up to the end I was thinking “how is this going to help me stop?”. But, when I got to the end, I picked a date to stop and have now been smoke free for 2 weeks! I haven’t changed my life and have continued to sit with family and friends who smoke and have a drink, but haven’t wanted to smoke at all. In the past, I’ve had to stop drinking because as soon as I have a drink, I want to smoke, but this time it hasn’t bothered me at all.Overall, I had to push myself to get through the book as it is very repetitive, but it seems to have done the job! Now wishing I hadn’t bought this drawer full of patches, gum and inhalator!

I really wasn’t expecting this book to work..
I really wasn’t expecting it this book to work. I was expecting to get through to the end and still crave them. Expecting that all the previous reviews raving about it were just exaggerating or maybe weren’t the same kind of smokers as me. I also found this book pretty patronising and annoying in parts – the authors language leaves a lot to be desired at points to the stage that I almost stopped reading at one point. But wow. Since finishing the book I have had a grand total of half a cigarette on a night out the day after finishing, which I quickly regretted and put out.I sometimes want one, don’t get me wrong, the temptation sometimes pops back up, but then I remember different ideas from the book that stuck with me and I realise I don’t actually want or need one.To me, this book was a series of poignant concepts. When I was reading the book I copied down sentences and ideas that really struck me in a small notebook which I carry about, able to read the points if temptation strikes. I haven’t had to get the notebook out yet. It’s now been…over a month, maybe two(?) since I’ve had a cigarette. Honestly I’m not even keeping track anymore. Every time I tried to quit before this book I’d be able to tell you *exactly* how long it had been since my last cigarette (probably to the hour/day!) Now it’s just “I’m a non-smoker!”Buy this book, read this book, and don’t be scared of finishing this book. You won’t regret it.

Finally! Smoke-free for 3 years!
When I started reading this 3 years ago, I was sceptical. “Another self-help book promising you the moon” – I thought. But hey, this book costs only as much as two packs of cigarettes! So I promised myself that if it does work – I will keep buying this book for my friends with the money I saved on smoking. Before reading this, I tried to quit at least three times. Strong will – twice , strong will + nicotine patches – twice. I was very successful every time I quit. For 3 or 4 months, after which I always came back. I think the longest I survived without a cigarette was 6 months. And then I bought this book.I have been smoke-free for almost 3 years now. The best part of it is that it really, amazingly – came almost totally effortlessly. I kept smoking while reading this book. I kept smoking after finishing reading this book. Then, about a month or two after I finished reading it – I simply decided that I’ve had enough of smoking. One week of feeling a bit anxious and deprived – and that’s it! Free! The best thing about this book though is the fact that it explains why you THINK smoking is something you like – which, for me, works like a miracle. I simply don’t feel the need to smoke anymore. I don’t feel I am missing something, that I need something, that life would be richer with nicotine.I have bought a number of these books for my friends now and I am just about to buy the next one.And from the time I quit, I have spent over 3500 pounds saved on cigarettes on things I really enjoy 🙂

Worked for a friend, and now for me after 30 years of smoking
Well it worked that’s 4 months now with no smoking, I don’t even think about it, now I smoked for around 30 years give or take 20 a day, i had stopped several times be it a few months to the most around a year and a half, the difference from this time to the others is that the last times I stopped I was always looking for / thinking about smokes, and fighting it, this time I don’t. Now while reading I thought this is crap it won’t work for me, but I kept reading and smoking as is the way of the book until I didn’t want to. For the price of the book it’s worth a shot, it worked for a friend that’s why I tried it and never thought it would work but here I am. As the book said you have to want to stop for yourself not due to an outside influence as in someone wanting you to stop, lack of money, ect but you want to stop.

I have quit smoking
I have been a 20 a day smoker for the past 12 years. I’ve never been able to give up not even for a day and I have tried several different aids. I tried using e cigarettes, patches and champix prescribed by the doctor. I first started reading this book thinking, this is very repetitive but persevered with it and found by the end of the book I couldn’t wait to finish it so I could quit. I actually was looking forward to quitting smoking. The first 3 days were hard but the book gave me good arguments against those little demons in my brain when they try to tell me to smoke. It’s now been 3 weeks and I know I will never smoke again. I have been around other smokers, just recently I was with a heavy smoker for 4 days and I didn’t want to smoke, in fact I felt sorry for the smoker. I have got drunk and still haven’t wanted a cigarette. I have been enlightened to the effect smoking was having on me, not only the physical harm that smoking causes but also the mental harm. Smoking actually represses all your emotions, not just the bad ones like stress and anxiousness but the good ones too like happiness, joy and laughter. I’ve also found that to relieve stress, it is much better to take long deep breaths of fresh air rather than choking on nicotine. I’ve also realised that smokers smell like homeless people, it really does stink. Don’t do it to yourself anymore, by this book and quit those cancer sticks, it really is very easy. If you’re a 20 a day roll up smoker like me, you’ll have made your money back within 3 days

Non Smoker Get In There
I heard about this book around 2006 from an ex work colleague.Fast forward to 2021 and I decided to purchase it for myself as I wanted to quit smoking, not had to quit but wanted to quit.I was a 20 a day smoker since 15 and I am now 39.Book arrived on the Friday to which I started reading it, smoking throughout reading and I finished the book the following evening, having my last cigarette at 8pm.The fact it goes into more detail about nicotine addiction and how the nicotine monster works you do know when that monster comes along and having read the book your new born knowledge helps you overcome. There is no doom and gloom, I am now a non smoker and I feel happier and content. Some days I laugh to myself and think “I can’t believe this worked” after many failed attempts. If you WANT to stop smoking then read it.It works if you work it

I QUIT THANKS TO THIS BOOK
I was a heavy smoker,I mean heavy,I could smoke nearly 60 a day….I heard about this book when Alan Carr was interviewed on the radio many years ago,and so many callers ringing in to thank him for helping them to get rid of the filthy habit. When i started reading the book,I continued to smoke like he tells you to do so,But i kept laughing to myself thinking this is never going to stop me,Then the further on i got on in the book i started to agree and could see where he was coming from. Then that final chapter of the final cigarette. My 6 year old daughter was staying with her Grandparents that night,So i was all alone with the last chapter and my last cigarette ( And money on the side incase i didnt last and could go to the 24 hour garage to get my nicotine fix if i failed} So i started the last chapter while smoking my last cigarette,I found i could not smoke all of the cigarette,I put it out more then half way through. Then i waited for the craving to start,It never came..Went to bed, slept the best nights sleep ever. Woke up no craving. Had a hen night the following week,You could still smoke in the pubs then,I was dreading it. But i had a great night and never thought about smoking. My Daughter is almost 17 now. I have never looked back. Many friends have borrowed the book and have also quit. So what have you got to loose,The book is the price of a packet of cigarettes,Think of the money you will save and the benefits to your health. THE BEST BOOK I EVER BOUGHT

Is exactly what it says….. brilliant!
I have been an on off smoker for about 20 years, although more on than off, now I come too admit it. I thought it was different for me as I did not smoke in the day time, just in the evenings or when drinking. It must be just a habit, not and addiction. I have tried to stop many times and only managed a few months. I had been recommended this book by a number of people and on impulse I started reading these reviews on amazon and decided it was my time. I ordered the book, took about two weeks on and off to read it. Which amused my partner while I sunned myself in the garden reading the book drinking punch and smoking my roll ups. As the book states you are supposed to keep smoking whilst reading it so it was no chore.Any hoo my excitement levels rose and dropped and rose again during reading, yes it is repetitive, but it needs to be to get into our heads! I think it has been a month now (see I am not even counting! – I am a non smoker!) and although there has been a wobble a week or so in, I will always be a non smoker and I get excited by the notion! If you want to quit or have thought about it do not delay buy the book enjoy reading it and feeling good about yourself and what you can achieve.Good for it you have nothing to stop you!Penny 🙂

It works
I had my last 3 weeks ago. I feel fine. Happy to be free of nicotine. I’m not sure if it’s a psychological effect, because so many people told me that this book works, so in my head I’ve told myself that it does, therefore it does, I was reading and waiting for that eureka moment to jump out, and it didn’t, so what is it about this book or the psychology inside it that made it work for me?…. who knows, I don’t, I just know it did what it claimed it would do. Totally recommend giving it a go.

2.5 years on never smoked
I was only 25 when I read this book. But I started smoking at 15. Just a few cigs here and there, then 10-15 a day! I actually started the new year of 2021 (new year new me and all!) and didn’t finish it because I could feel it working!Picked it up not long into lockdown and finished my last cig the last day of this book! Never picked up, took a draw, tried a vape anything, since finishing this book.It changed your mind.I don’t know what it does, but it works.

Miracle book !!
Well what can I say about this book !! I brought it not expecting it to work but thinking i had nothing to lose except a fiver . I was smoking at least 20 a day anyway and then I separated from my husband and lockdown happened so it really wasn’t the time to quit ….I finished the book over about 4-5 days reading a bit each night at bedtime and even though at first I found it patronising I read on because it was an easy read and quite interesting. Everything Allen says is correct . I haven’t used any substitutes at all and I’m not over eating like I have in previous attempts to quit . It’s been over 5 weeks now and I don’t even crave a cigarette after food or with alcohol, the first 3 days you have pangs because of the nicotine withdrawal and I was slightly irritatable but after that it was a breeze . Honestly give this book a go if you really want to quit

Smokers – You HAVE to read this book. I loved smoking, & believe me – i could smoke !!! For over 15 years i smoked & was ‘proudly’ up to 20 a day by my 15th year. And yep – I thought i’d never be able to give up as i’d tried so many times before. SO – forget allllll the other methods – patches, gum, etc – just read this. Best £6 you’ll ever spend. & sceptics – please read it – no harm done if by the end you still smoke. And you EVEN have the pleasure of being told to smoke whilst you’re reading it. It’s not full of scare mongering tales of ‘you’ll die’ or anything heavy, it’s seriously the easiest read you’ll ever have. It’s weird – it just works?!! Took me 3 days and i literally stopped overnight. & That was 3 years ago. I STILL even get the “it’s so weird seeing you without a cigarette”. You don’t have to avoid smokers, or not go out for fear of the ‘can’t handle going out without being able to smoke’ feeling …trust me, it’s GOT to be worth a try if you’re even slightly curious or wanted to quit. There’s no luck needed, no will power, just give it a read & you’ll be seriously chuffed with yourself, and you’ll soon realise you actually love NOT smoking tonnes more than you loved smoking. They say there’s nothing worse than an EX-smoker …but trust me – you’ll do it easily !!! BUY BUY BUY !!!

I did it! You can too!
This really is the best method of giving up smoking I have tried… I truly believe I have stopped, and I am not going to start again. It’s the common sense approach to quitting smoking. Easy to read. A few pages a night, and you continue to smoke whilst reading the book, by the tie you reach the end, you’ll be ready to quit!

This book works ….
There’s not many original ways to review this. Like thousands of others I used to smoke around 20 a day, probably for the last 20 years. It’s not a particularly long or challenging read. However it highlights the points , you already knew, but probably weren’t ready to face. You will need “some” willpower and you will hopefully already be at that point where you are actually ready to give up smoking. If you are, buy and read the book, be open minded and go for it. I haven’t smoked now in just over a month. The day after finishing the book, I quit. It’s actually been a lot easier than I expected. I’ve tried patches and everything else. Now I am genuinely happy to say , I don’t smoke. Go for it.

Begin the rest of your life
I was what most would call a pretty typical smoker. I began smoking for the same reasons that a lot of people do, smoking areas of night clubs and bars when I was in college. My consumption slowly but surely increased over the years until I was about 21 and I was smoking about 15-20 a day. A lot of my friends smoked and it was normal. I tried many times to quit, and this is how I would describe an average attempt.I would go to bed Sunday night having smoked my ‘last cigarette’ with a very positive attitude, I had my doubts but tried very hard to stay positive. I would wake up and still feel this way, ‘never smoking again’, even the thought of that sentence would make me feel unhappy. By the time I had finished breakfast all I could think was cigarettes. The thought that I would never smoke a cigarette again made me feel like my life was over. Sooner or later that day, or the next, I would find some excuse and I was back smoking again.I found this book and decided to try it, nothing else worked so I figured why not. By the time I was even half way through it, although I was still smoking as instructed, I knew I was free. It was like someone had opened my brain and rewired it. It didn’t have any hold on me anymore, my thoughts changed from ‘I can never smoke again’ to ‘I never have to smoke again’. I was so excited to think how I would feel in a week, a month, a year. It went from mission impossible to just plain simple. It was stupidly easy. From a smoker’s point of view, I know how much you will not be able to understand this and simply cannot believe it. So the choice is yours, you can wonder about how it works and forget about it, or just click order and find out. You will never look back. Your life will become great. If you want to be on here writing the same review in 6 months then just get it. It saved my life plain and simple.

This works. Don’t know how but it does.
As a smoker for 20 years, when my children were born I wanted to stop but couldn’t. My wife and I both read this book, stopped at the same time and haven’t touched a cigarette since and that was over19 years ago now. I don’t know how it works, it isn’t a book which bangs on about health, it simply changes the way you think of smoking. It even insists you keep smoking at certain points in the book but at that point you actually don’t want to continue. Amazing the way it achieves its goal. That nicotine monster inside you needs to die and every next cigarette you have is the one which continues to feed it. Time to starve it out.

Yeah this is a good book if you’re already ready to quit
Yeah this is a good book if you’re already ready to quit. I was. And a lot of it is obvious stuff, but good for reinforcing what you already know. Now to be honest, I got up out of bed to have my last smoke because I didn’t realise the end was so near….and I had two. And I didn’t quit the next day. But I have suffered through the most traumatic event of my life (hopefully) this year, and am still struggling, so I wouldn’t fault the book for that. I did however stop smoking about 2 weeks later. After the book I cut down to 3 a day. (I know, even though he said not to…) and then one Monday i said right, lets try this. I missed the 3 smokes the first few days, but honest to god by the Friday I had stopped noticing the times when I would have had them. I’ll admit as soon as I had a glass of wine I wanted one, but I didn’t have one. And now I’ve been off them for…..a month I think? I had my first real happy non smoker moment when I was out for dinner last Friday, left the restaurant and there was someone outside smoking and I though, wow, i am so happy i don’t have to do that anymore! Because that’s just it, it’s a ‘have to’, you may think you’re choosing to have a smoke, but you’re not. You have to. The book is right about that. And also it has made me be more supportive of people who have given up, even before I did, I never used to say well done. And it’s a huge feat. Worth a go for sure. It could give you extra years of being alive.

Works if you want it to
I bought this book as it was recommended by a friend of mine who quit after reading this book. Of course, I was sceptical, but I have been truly wanting to quit for some time now and decided to give it a try.Happy to say I haven’t touched any cigarettes in the past 2 weeks – and I’ve been regularly been to social gatherings, pubs, barbeques (the life of a student haha) – accompanied by the same smoker friends I had. The book gave me the impulse I needed to finally get rid of the smoking. On the other hand, I have other friends that have tried this book and didn’t manage to quit, but the difference is that they didn’t actually want to quit. The book won’t magically make you quit smoking if you do not truly desire to.

Simply amazing, would give it more stars if I could!
Someone recommended this book to me when i mentioned I was thinking about stopping smoking as they had stopped after reading it. I didn’t quite expect much, but thought I was going to read it and see. I was a bit apprehensive about the promise of never wanting to have another cigarette after reading the book, however, that turned out to be 100% the case! I am so glad I came across this book, I have now not smoked for a few months and have no desire to. I am not bothered about people smoking around me either, so I have been able to socialise (that had been my downfall when stopping before) without any temptation. I have now also read the book about alkohol and have not drunk for a few months. Highly recommend.PS. Those who have criticised repetition found in the book – I usually would comment negatively on something like this too, but in this book it is understandable and justified. The criticism seems more like an excuse to put the book down and carry on smoking.

Thank you Allen Carr
I bought this book for my husband as I already had the one for women, but after my husband read this and stopped smoking at Christmas, I borrowed it and read it too. I stopped feeling the need to smoke January 11th, and gave it up. I was a bit confused why this book worked better than my other Allen Carr book, and its because the format is different. Each section/chapter of this one is clearly separated from the next bit, whereas in my other one each chapter flows into the next which was a bit off-putting. The helpful parts of the one for women were some great points about smoking when pregnant etc and the stigma that goes with that, but ultimately it was this book that triggered something in my brain, that dissolved that last illusion about smoking. It made sense and I stopped.Sometimes when I am stressed I will think ‘I used to smoke when I felt like this’, and then I practise deep-breathing and resolving my problem somehow. Sometimes stepping away is all that’s needed, without the cigarette part. The cigarette was unnecessary. I thought I needed it, but that’s like saying I thought I needed to inhale carbon monoxide, the poison, to feel normal. I wanted to be as I was before. To feel the stress, as stress is a normal part of life, but to learn to cope with it instead of using a cigarette as a method of escapism. Smoking is not escaping anything. Ironically, smoking is the trap from which we need to escape from!Plus, we wanted to have children and not be smoking parents. We are now expecting our first baby (a girl) and I am so glad that I escaped the trap. I am so proud of my Husband for stopping too. Thank you Allen Carr for being the only guru who managed to ‘get through’ to our inner demon and give us back the reigns of control. You have made 3 people much healthier!

Kill that nicotine monster inside you.
This book does work, using quite simple psychology. The whole trick involves reverse thinking. Instead of worrying about what you will be missing by giving up cigarettes, it emphasises what you will be gaining. But that doesn’t quite explain how it works and I’m hard put to explain it definitively. It introduces a number of ideas that feel really fresh and positive, in place of the dire warnings of the anti-smoking ads, or the futility of nicotine replacement patches, where you’re still receiving selective doses of the poison. I read to about halfway and then put the book aside for about a week. I think I was scared I was really going to have to give up something I’d always seen as a necessity. Wouldn’t I feel desperate? What would I do about the cravings? The withdrawal symptoms? Then I picked up the book and read it to the end. The ideas were still fresh, still positive, still absolutely logical and tremendously encouraging. Somehow it seemed really stupid not to believe what the book said. It was true. I wasn’t actually giving anything up, other than a nasty habit that was ruining my health. I got to the end of the book and decided that I didn’t want to smoke my ‘last cigarette’. I’d do without.I haven’t had cravings, I haven’t had any withdrawal symptoms. I wake up in the morning and I remember that I don’t smoke any more. It feels liberating. I feel lighter, healthier, happier. It genuinely feels so damned good to have beaten that drug!Sometimes, it’s true, there are moments when I feel something is missing – but then I remember what it is. Nicotine. A poison that wears you down like your veins are filled with liquid lead. Now I’ve killed the nicotine monster inside me (it’s been almost a month); I KNOW I won’t ever need to smoke another cigarette.

Good book, worked on me so far. However I wish it would explain some things a bit better.
I think the book trivializes the nicotine withdrawal a bit. I have an anxiety disorder and the withdrawal symptoms from the nicotine have been particularly harsh on me. I understand that the ciggs do nothing for me now and I can look at a pack of ciggs with no desire to smoke them which is cool but a little bit of a warning of just how shit i might feel could have gone a long way haha.I understand its trying to placebo you a bit into thinking it would be really easy but the thing is i think the rest of the book has really good messages that is enough to help convince you to stop smoking, I would just panic a little less if i understood the complete shit ive been feeling is just withdrawal symptoms and not my life falling apart.

Give it time to sink in
The first few times that I read it, I was too brainwashed for it to work right away. I still believed that smoking for doing something for me, despite the fact that it wasn’t. After a while, I could hear Allen Carrs words in my thoughts and everything he had written was so true. I did not enjoy smoking, it didn’t relieve my boredom, I did not like the taste and it was harming me. I read the book one last time, smoked the following day with the intention of quitting and that night I packed it in, knowing that I gained everything. I used to think morning coffees would be hard without smoking but here I am, high on caffeine with no depressing urge to smoke. No regret 10 times a day. No anxiety in non smoking areas. And thank goodness I don’t have to spend £6 a day on 10 cancer sticks. I’m looking forward to a nice treat come my birthday with all the money I’ve saved and I look forward to working out with greater intensity.

Life changing book
For me and my wife this book stopped us smoking and we haven’t smoked again (it’s been 3 years now)We then passed on to my dad who was a smoker of 43 years and he has also read it and never smoked again.I appreciate this book won’t work for everyone, in fact I’ve tried other Allen carr books to see if the same system would work for other things and It didn’t. However from my personal experience I could feel the book starting to work about half way through. The book at times is patronising and feels like it’s saying the most obvious things but honestly stick with it and hopefully it will have the success with you it’s had with me and my family. I can’t recommend this enough, legitimately life changing.

I swear, if you are wanting to stop. Buy this book
I’m shocked. I’ve stopped smoking after 16 years of my life. I never thought the day would come. I’m 29 years old and started smoking around the age of 13.I’ve started and stopped smoking many times in my life (I say many but it’s actually only twice). This time I know I’m done. I’m 3 days free of this poison and I just know I’ll never put another nasty cigarette to my mouth again, or a vape or any device that registers nicotine into my system.I remembered the first place I smoked a cigarette and I went back to the sample place I started, smoked my last cigarette consciously and left. I’m free.I promise you if you actually want to stop smoking then buy this book. You will stop once the book has been read. Just follow the instructions and stay strong. Greatness awaits you. I wish everyone the best.

This book did not help my quit…
I was a 20-30 per day smoker for 11 years and I hated every puff, I also hated that I was willing to go hungry or beg strangers to get a cigarette. What’s more not only did smoking make me ill but it was killing me; I suffered a severe chest infection that nearly killed me at 20, and I suffered multiple strokes in my teens as a result of being both a smoker and taking hormonal birth control pills. In my time trying to quit smoking I had tried every tip and trick to cut down or quit cold-turkey, I had tried nicotine replacement therapy, e-cigarettes, support groups, drugs like Zyban, but nothing worked more than three months…and those three months were a constant battle not to buy a pack of cigarettes, depriving myself of something I didn’t even want, eating like a pig to keep my mouth busy, sleeping-in to avoid hour of torment without a smoke, and snapping at everyone.I came across Easyway on a forum amongst a sea of positive reviews, I immediately thought ‘this is going to be the magic ticket!’ and bought a new copy of the book straight away. I got the book within a few days, initially I tried to put off reading the book – I’m not a huge reader, and I guess I was scared of giving-up smoking – I would read a few pages then decide I was bored, or I’d find myself sitting arguing with the book…sure I knew smoking was bad but it calmed me down, I need it to socialise, to break the boredom at work, to take a break between drinks on a night out, to use as a means of self-defense when walking alone at night…it took me a few weeks to finish the book. I agreed with everything that the book said and so I stopped smoking…I managed three months before I broke-down and asked a work colleague for a cigarette, it had been a little easier than on previous attempts to quit, but it was still me trying to use willpower to fight the addiction – I wasn’t using the method correctly! I knew the method worked, it made too much sense for it not to work! Over the following year I continued to smoke but at the same time suggested this book to friends; FIVE people quit smoking with this book after I recommended it to them, why not me?! I didn’t follow the method correctly, chances are it was because I’m not a big fan of reading and just found myself sitting arguing with the book was why it didn’t work for me. I tried re-reading the book and getting a PC disk with software guiding you through the course, I knew was missing something but at the same time I knew I was on the right track!I signed up for an Easyway Clinic, it was expensive however it was about the cost of two months worth of cigarettes and they offered a full money back guarantee so I had nothing to lose. The clinic took two hours, they went through exactly what they did in the book and I was able to argue back with the advisor…the thing is he didn’t say anything I didn’t already know myself, I felt like he hadn’t really given me anything new at all. During the whole clinic you were still allowed to smoke, we had regular cigarette breaks and we happily chain-smoked every 30 minutes. At the end of the clinic we were asked to throw our cigarettes into a bin bag, I did so knowing fine well that I was just going to buy more on my way home……I never bought another pack of cigarettes.I’ve been a non-smoker for 7 years now and I have never once wanted to smoke again; no cravings, no withdrawal, no moodiness, no depriving myself, no struggle with willpower or replacing cigarettes with food or some other distraction for my mouth or hands. It’s not that I’m an ex-smoker either, it’s like I was never a smoker to begin with. I look at people smoking and I am completely baffled by it, I just can’t get my head around the idea of lighting up a cigarette and putting it in my mouth to suck on. The whole idea of smoking seems so foreign to me now, I just can’t remember how to smoke or why I’d even want to. It drives me insane seeing smokers going through hell trying to quit with willpower methods, when I know this method is so easy! Not meaning to break any illusions here, but Easyway works by tackling the mental addiction – if you don’t want to quit and if you don’t follow this method then it won’t work. I can assure you those who give this book a bad review have found it hasn’t worked because they haven’t followed the method, I see them saying; it’s just saying what you know already, it just keeps repeating the same thing, it just keeps talking about the method but never explains the method, smoking is a chemical addiction so this book won’t help you – trust me when I say these people have missed the entire point of the book.I can honestly say this book saved my life, and gave me back my freedom, I really can’t express how much I appreciate and love Allen Carr for what he has done. I’ll even let you in on a secret, when I have spare cash I buy copies of this book and leave it in doctors offices. PLEASE I beg you buy this book, or even try the clinic. THIS METHOD WORKS.

Keep an open mind and follow the instructions
Bookmarks, plenty of bookmarks. You need to recall the certain steps in your mind once you’ve read the book, it’s not immediate and takes practice, but no more than a few times rereading instructions and commiting to memory to make like easy.

The Best Investment I’ve EVER made!!
I tried soo hard to quit smoking and drinking because thing’s really got outta hand.I used to back down bottles of magnums, brandy’s, and Wray and nephews EVERY single day, smoking like a chimney like there was no tomorrow. As strong as I am I found it extremely difficult just to put an abrupt stop to this dirty habit.I looked for a way and found out about Allen’s program on YouTube and went through numerous interviews and celebrity endorsements.Everything pointed to buying his book, so I got both the stop smoking and stop drinking book… after reading the stop drinking book I didn’t even need to read the other one, I ran through it in 24hrs because it was like seeing what I was doing to myself with 20/20 vision. I resonated to it like it was a god sent bible.I smoked for 12yrs NONSTOP and I quit just like that without feeling deprived or withdrawal symptoms whatsoever, so far it’s been 4 and a half months (the longest I’ve gone since I was 16). My mind was already set half way through the book, I knew with absolute confidence I definitely quit, 1000%.The important take away from this book is that the author completely removes the ‘false’ desires that’s driving you to pick up a cig and smoke or alcohol to drink. He uses repetition in the book to reinforce new concepts (the truth) and remove the false concepts (the illusions you’ve unintentionally created) and it gives you complete confidence that quitting is easier than it seems. He doesn’t even tell you to quit, he effectively pulls your head out the sand and let’s you decide if you want to carry on or not.I’ve also got to say buying and reading this book is one of the best investments a smoker or drinker could ever make in their lifetime.By far, the first biggest change I saw in the first week was seeing my expenses cut by at least 60%, I had more money to use than I EVER did before, the second was the way I Was thinking more clearly and being more productive throughout the day, third, I would say confronting the triggers that kept me drinking/smoking ie boredom, social settings, escaping life, etc. That was by far the most satisfying challenge to conquer after reading the book. And finally, regaining the power to decide whether or not I want to smoke or drink (because I was a slave to it before).I’m not the type to write a lot but this is a expression of how much this changed my life and how it can you too. This book cost peanuts but will save you millions in your lifetime, not to mention your health, reputation, and self worth.

Cut out the EZWAY nonsense
Funny and insightful and very well read by the voice actor. I am currently listening to it in audiobook form whilst in the middle of a house move; after having vaped with maximum strength ‘e-liquid’ for about a year.I’m finding this a useful to help quit, but I’ll be honest, I’m quite worried at the moment about the amount of nicotine products being pushed as ‘new, wellness, healthcare, lifestyle’ kind of nonsense. I definitely bought into it when my mental health was low.You need to be careful with these products, vaping and nicotine patches etc are still ‘big pharma’ although they are being advertised as wellness products in stores. Get specialist help when you want to quit properly.Cut that sh*t out and add something useful about vaping and maybe cannabis use to your book and it will take off again. Cut out the EZWAY cr*p. It is psychological jargon that is patronising and demeaning to people’s intelligence…My local pharmacy offers a free supported quitting program, I’ll say it again. Stop pushing this ezway cr*p in your book, it puts readers off and stops them recommending it to people. And, it is clearly trying to pander to the US audience and the massive wellness drive there.Vaping is initially a seemingly innocuous product the way it is designed is completely exploitative. Please include a chapter on that instead of rewriting it to sell your ezway techniques to the US market. The people in the US are actually very intelligent and you don’t need to pander like a populist to a tiny minority who are not. If we pander to populists, guess what, we get Trump. That is my only criticism of the the book, it is clearly selling itself as a wellness self-help book with ‘the ez way to quit smoking’ nonsense. So, apologies for the rant, as you can probably tell I am still in the process of quitting myself 😂But honestly, YouTube ‘vaping’ and you will see how nicotine is still being sold as a safe lifestyle thing. This is the exact same playbook as the nicotine industry has desperately been trying for every generation. When I was young it was little candy sticks that look like cigarettes in sweet shops.Guess what tastes like candy?Book still deserves 5 stars though, clearly well researched and very well read.Much love,An angry Scottish person giving up vaping.

Cognitive reframing, effective
I’ve quit smoking many times. I purchased this book a while ago but managed to “quit” without it. Then I had few cigerettes on a stag trip and soon enough was chain smoking whenever work stress appeared. After smokinging ten cigs in a row and still feeling like I wanted another, I was coincidentally looking through my kindle library to find my next read and decided this stop smoking book should be given a chance because of it’s high reviews and the fact that I’d already purchased it.The book does well in reframing how I think about smoking which is the reason I believe some have such ease stopping smoking after completing the book. This is the primary method used and I did try to believe what the author writes in an attempt to give the method the best chance of working. I’m only a week into quitting, so it’s early days but I am finding it quite easy at this point. Mind you, it’s covid lockdown so there’s no social situations or pub trips to tempt me which may also be helping. The other key point that changed in this attempt to quit compared to my previous is the understanding that smoking needs to be something I know I don’t want any part of ever again. On past attempts I quit with the understanding that having a cig from a friend or a cigar on a wedding does no damage, causes no harm and it a pleasant experience. This book outlines a better mentality for resisting tobacco:- A cig isn’t just a cig, it’s an invitation for the nicotine addiction to tighten it’s grasp on you- Smoking isn’t genuinely enjoyable and therefore wont be missed- Brainwashing has a bigger role in your addiction than nicotine doesIf you are struggling to quit, I’d say give it a try and really try to give it a chance. Whether the reframing works, or it’s just placebo affect the end result would be the same.

From a none.smoker
I have given this book to three people now who have wanted to give up smoking and wanted the book. This was around 9 months ago and not one of them has read it. I have had fantastic success with Allen Carr’s alcohol book and totally believe in his method. I downloaded this smoking book on to my Kindle to get an insight into nicotine addiction, and what an eye opener it was. I never knew that nicotine did nothing at all (no buzz no high nothing) although I should have realised this a number of years ago when I tried a friend’s nicotine puffer, when nothing happened to me and my friend couldn’t understand this. It is only when you keep taking it and become addicted that you suffer WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS FROM THE LAST CIGARETTE when you don’t have one. The cigarette only removes the feelings of withdrawal so feels like it is doing something, so an illusion of a high. I realise from this book that people won’t read it in case it works and they fear their life will be a miserable one. The same fear exists with the alcohol book as well because it took a friend 4 months to read it but is now a very happy none drinker.I really don’t know what to suggest to ensure someone reads it, I can only say you have nothing to lose and just take a leap of faith. It is not the number one best seller for nothing.I wish you all the best.

It works!!!!
Ok so I really didn’t believe this would work. It had been recommended to me by a few people who have quit smoking and as my teen daughter had asked me to stop i decided i needed to give it a go.Unlike a lot of people I am aware I smoked purely because it is an addiction. I knew I didn’t enjoy it. And I hated the fact I lived it life constantly trying to work out how and when I could have a cigarette.I smoked 20 a day. Sometimes more. But from 8pm last night. I don’t want one. I don’t want to smoke so I’m not. I’ve had a couple of almost stroppy moments and I have to remind myself what’s happening. And to try and convince myself more I have just purchased a couple of the other quit smoking books by the same author. However I’m reading those already a non smoker. :)It’s amazing the results this book can achieve. I really didn’t think it would even get me this far. But I was excited to quit.I will update this review as I get either along.

Willpower definitely required.
I don’t know how to feel after reading this book. I have rated 4 stars because everything I needed to know about escaping was there. The foundation was set for me to continue with the journey to be free. I woke this morning from finishing the book about 8pm last night and who knows I may be weaker than most but around 10 mins ago I just lit up. I felt a bit guilty for doing it but I still want to be free. I convinced myself that this was a slip but the willpower in me is just not strong enough right now. I’ll carry on with my being free process over the next week and hopefully I’ll be stronger and get past the certain point of feeling like an ex-smoker.

It finally worked after 11 years!!!
I have tried many times to quit smoking. I smoked for 11 years over 20 cigarettes a day. First time I quit for 3 months. second time… 6 months and last time before this was… 9 months. Either way every time i quit i felt like I was missing out on something, I missed my cigarettes. You know what I’m talking about! I felt deprived, i felt like life was never going to be the same again. After I read this book it all changed. The only rule in this book is you can’t stop smoking until you finish it!! Well I couldn’t finish it fast enough. Try it out .. see what it does for you. You have nothing to loose. But trust me with this book you can only win! I have been smoke free for over a month now, but compared to all the other times I have quit smoking this is completely different. I don’t miss it, i don’t think about it, I don’t crave it, I don’t even want it. Enough said. 🙂

Make the best decision of your life and read this book, I implore you.
I’ve smoked from the age of 20 to age 28. I started because of a girlfriend, stupid I know, and continued that habit. I’ve wanted to quick smoking for a while and I’ve tried quite a few times… this book was a revelation. Initially the book is utter garbage in my opinion… a lot of self aggrandising bull$*** for lack of a better phrase. However endure this for your own sake…The actual content is very good. It teaches you about why you smoke… the psychological reasons behind that “habit”… That habit really is addiction and although we don’t like to admit it. No matter how few you smoke, you are an addict. Nicotine is your drug and you are a drug addict.I didn’t think I was either… I’d smoked for 8 years… but I still only smoked between 10 and 15 a day. So I thought that was a low amount for an addict. No no… it’s just a habit. But then why was it so hard to quit? Why after reading this book was it so easy to quit? Please make the best decision of your life and buy and read this book. Persevere through some of the dull parts of the book…. because the true content and message in the book will sink in and it will stop you from smoking. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Escape from the smoking trap. (I quit in August and it is now 30th December 2016 and I’ve not smoked since the 3rd of August 2016)

THE BEST TENNER I EVER SPENT-IT WILL WORK FOR YOU TOO
I’m 41 years old, had my first cigarette – a No. 6, when I was 8 years old. Been smoking non-stop with the odd couple of months of giving up. I had been wanting to buy this book for ages, and had bought an older version of it, without the CDs. Never got around to finishing it. I was determined to do it this time. Bought this book, took it on holiday to Spain, read it sitting round the pool, extinguished my last cigarette there and then. That was August 2005, it’s now the 1st February 2006, and I have not smoked since. The whole point of this book is that it makes you realise that you don’t need to smoke, and dispels all rumours on smoking, i.e. how it de-stresses you, it actually does the complete opposite. Once you had read the book and understand smoking for what it really is, drug addiction, you too can do it. Trust me, I have recommended this book to loads of people, and most of them, have bought it, read it, and given up. You too could be free of the poison. Only one proviso, you must want to give up. Allen Carr has a 95% success rate in his clinics, don’t know about the book, but it will work. You don’t need willpower. Buy, read it, and change your life forever. It’s now June 2010, and I still don’t smoke, and still no I never will do again.

It worked
After 37 years of smoking20 a day, my breathing was hard, I needed to do something to stop, I was recommended this book, it sat on my shelves for 6 months until I could pluck up the courage to read it. Never thought it would work but in July I read it. Found it a bit repetitive but stuck with it. To my amazement I Stopped smoking over night and it hasn’t really bothered me, no vapes or patches needed & breathing back to normal. I wish I had read this years ago. Only down fall is I’m one of those ex smokers that hates the smell of cigarettes now!

Please just read it
I started smoking at 15 behind the bike sheds at school – at the time I thought is was cool.I am now 46 and apart from a few failed tries at stopping, have smoked around 20 a day since.I have a little boy 3, and a little girl of 6. When they ask you to stop smoking because they don’t want you to die you need to listen. After reading this book, I stopped smoking and know I will not start again. It was by far the easiest and least difficult of all my attempts to stop smoking.Being generally a bit cynical about ‘self help books’, and seeing some reviews from people who are ‘too intelligent’ and see through the techniques used, or criticise the writing style, I say the following:1). This book has helped large numbers of people to stop smoking.2). It costs around the same as one packet of cigarettes.3). Reading it could save you life. The greatest gift that I could wish for is to see my two small children grow into adulthood, perhaps get married and have children of their own. I now have a much better chance of seeing those things.Dress it up how you like, it really is as simple as that.Just for once take the advice of a perfect stranger, one with no axe to grind, who wishes someone had pointed them in this direction years ago.You have virtually nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Please try this book.Update: I bought this book over ten years ago now. Ten years in which I’ve been a non-smoker. In fact, I sometimes cannot imagine that I ever was. Without doubt the best money I ever spent in my whole life.

If you are ready to quit
If you are ready to quit the dreaded cigs and you have got your mind in the right place then this CD will be an amazing help. I went on an Allen Carr one day seminar which was very beneficial but expensive, but in hindsight I could have listened to this cd a few times and saved a lot of money.Giving up smoking is a very hard to do if you are a hardened smoker like I was, 25-30 a day for 40 years and I was truly addicted. It is as Allen Carr says a mind thing in the end not that I have got there yet, only managed 26 days as I type this but that in itself is a miracle. He talks a lot of sense, ignore the americanism, and concentrate, I had to replay sections several times before I understood totally what he was saying. In short, if you want to give up then you can do no harm only good by buying this cd and listening. The key thing is have you got time to listen / and or do you want to hear !!!!

It really works! Necessary for all those wanting to quit.
I liked this book a lot. It isn’t preachy in its attempts to coach you into quitting. It’s been written by someone who has been there, done that and most definitely got the T-shirt. From the first few chapters I started to notice my feelings towards smoking changing, from viewing it as a crutch in my life and a pleasurable experience to the grim habit I actually is. The book tells you to keep smoking as you read the book, and the more I read, the more I started to realise I wasn’t enjoying the cigarettes until I had my final cigarette at the end, and was proud to realise I was finally a non smoker!Only 4 stars though as at times the author repeats himself, and whilst repetition is useful to drive home the points, sometimes you wonder if it’s a mistake and you’re re reading a chapter you’ve already covered.
