    Not for me

No idea why this got five stars but overall I found it boring, uninspiring and non-creative look at planning – it really didn’t make me want to get organised. Also it was referring a lot to Germany, so I ended up flicking through the rest of the book after the first twenty pages. Short book for the money.

    Good

Systematic approach to setting goals with the intention to increase the probability of achieving them and avoid conflicting goals and detrimental unintended consequences. The only downside is that it gives you a good dose of reality and makes you realise that as you get older the extent to which the number of opportunities and choices declines. If you are an older person, like me, it may not be the book for you. Even so, it is an extremely good book and can teach you a lot.

The information within the book was really valuable. It will kept things interesting, as well as the pointers, and the chores throughout the book which helped me with my own goal setting. This book is not for you if you are not open to new ideas, like to hold to your old opinions, and prefer things to stay the same. However, if you want to do all necessary to achieve a substantial difference in your life, this book is for you.

An important book for goal setting

Clear goals are supposed to be realistic, and this book will help you with that. It will guide you toward breaking your long-term goals into small, achievable action steps. When you achieve multiple goals along the way, you get a sense of accomplishment, and this motivates you to keep going at it. Soon enough, you’ll feel secure in your journey towards achieving your 5-year or even 10-year plans, which is awesome!! After reading this book, it has given me hope that I’ll actually be able to achieve my dreams in life. It really helps that the author breaks down goal planning into just 4 simple steps. No matter what your dream is, no matter how far-reaching it may seem, you can live it and get there, step-by-step, and the author will guide you through goal planning step-by-step in a clear and succinct way that’s easy to understand and follow.I have learned so much from Clear Goals, from first having to find the right goals to how the environment plays a role in your goals, and much more. The book is also written in a way that is inherently interesting. You’re never left bored, but kept engaged throughout, through the writing, the stories, the hint sections, the author’s experiences, the very relevant information, the numerous nuggets of wisdom, and even the formatting is excellent. It is also a very practical book with exercises and a “Final Task” you can do at the end of each chapter so that by the end of the book, you’ll have a very real list of things you can go on to finally get to where you want to be. Don’t pass on this book. I believe, in my humble opinion, that ‘Clear Goals’ is essential reading and a must-have in any library.

    Live your dreams!

This book has taught me that when it comes to goal setting, there are 2 things that matter: First, there are the things you have to do or your so-called obligations. Then there is the free time you have for planning in which you can set your desired goals. This book will, step-by-step, teach you how to correctly plan your obligations and goals through tasks that the author assigns you. I have a better grip on how to perform long-term planning, as well, after reading ‘Clear Goals’. You also learn that your environment can be both a driver and an obstacle. This book will guide you toward choosing the environment that is most suitable for your goals. The author was right when he said that “Planning your goals lets you live every dream precisely!” I am just so excited for life after having finished the book. It feels like a good friend who has your back and who wants to see your dreams fulfilled. I’ve poured through many guidebooks and listened to many people who talked about goal setting for a long time but nothing would stick. However, this book helped it all make sense. I truly believe that the author has formulated the perfect way to deal with goals, and I am grateful for him passing on the idea that runs like a thread throughout the book. I hope this book will help you, as it has helped me.You’ll be able to set goals with enormous precision, for your job, your personal life, your relationships, for hobbies, for your dreams, and so much more! I mean, what if you find out that you can be the person you’ve always wanted to be? This book makes it possible!
