    Must Read

This is a must-read for anyone looking to evaluate their relationship with social media. Personally, I found this book to be incredibly powerful and it even inspired me to take a 30-day break from Instagram. I anticipate re-reading it in the future, as it has sparked a continuing reflection on the role of social media and technology in my life. The insights and recommendations presented in this book can help readers establish a healthier and more intentional relationship with technology, while also cultivating more meaningful connections with others and finding greater fulfillment in their lives

    Great read!

If you are ready to make radical changes in your approach to tech in your life, this book is for you. I really love how this book encourages you to take control of your relationship with your phone- to mindfully plan how you use the different apps and to find balance in your life. An absolute must-read!

  3. Amanda Bredenkamp

    Honest and insightful

One aspect I appreciate about this author is that he does not demonize technology or social media. Instead, he recognizes their potential value. However, he is transparent about the fact that to fully reap those benefits, one must engage in a sort of David vs. Goliath battle. This involves using technology only in ways that significantly enhance one’s life, even if it means going against the way these platforms are designed to operate.

    Insightful

This book offers valuable insights and initiates an essential conversation that we must have with ourselves about our digital device usage. It prompts readers to take conscious control over the amount of time they spend on their devices, with practical recommendations that are both helpful and sensible. Josh’s suggestions are specific and actionable, making it easier for readers to implement them and strike a healthy balance between their digital life and personal well-being.

  5. Philos Delights

    Getting Real With Internet Addiction

It can be brutally honest, at times, and a touch too ascetic for my tastes. But only a touch. There is a lot here to learn from. It has been life-altering in the best possible ways for me.

  6. Kirsten B

    An excellent motivator

This is probably the best book that I’ve encountered on the subject of digital minimalism, and having revisited it around the time I finally decided to delete my Facebook permanently (and am close to doing the same with my Instagram), I can safely say that this is an incredibly useful practical guide on how to move away from being phone dependent.

  7. Aparna Preethi

    Best one out there!

This book truly deserves the label of “life-changing” – a rare designation in my opinion. Its informative style provides ample room for reflection and absorption, as it delves into the problems arising from our current over-reliance on technology and social media. However, the book’s approach is far from doomsday in nature, instead presenting a stark yet realistic depiction of our current reality, complete with practical strategies and suggestions for personal application.

  8. Tara Dodson

    an eye opener

Through its pages, readers will learn about the advantages of spending time away from their smartphones and uncover a wide range of hobbies and educational pursuits to explore. Build a philosophy around your tech use and you use your tech more wisely. I’m trying, and this book is helping.

    Such a good read! A must-have book!

One of my favorite reads of the year. No, one of my favorites reads ever. Deleted Facebook and Facebook messenger off my phone thanks to this book! Would read this one again to help ingrain the importance of dopamine detox.
